MICHÈLE ATKINSON grew up in Quebec City, lives in Montreal and works in her studios in Montreal or Vermont in the summer, She studied beaux-arts five years at a private school in Varennes, Qc where the curriculum included composition, theory of colour, drawing the model and art history. She had a number of solos exhibitions and participated in over twenty group shows . Her work has been shown in galleries in Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City and Baie Saint-Paul, a small art town in Quebec. Michèle’s work traveled at Affordable Art Fairs in Florida, England and HongKong, and is in collections in Canada, United-States and Europe .  Life changing events a few years ago impacted her art : after a year without painting, she abandoned oil paint in favour of acrylics and her impressionist semi-abstract style gave way to expressive figurative art.
